Originally there was a small creek running through Five Fountains.  Our vision was to transform the drainage area into a view corridor through the heart of the community that included ponds, streams and fountains.  Additionally, we felt that there was a strong desire among “higher end” home buyers to have a community that was more open than we find in traditional neighborhoods here in Omaha.  The natural contours of the land are ideal for the type of development we had envisioned for Five Fountains.  With the help of Lamp Rynearson and Associates, the design came together quite nicely.     

The excellent access to the West Dodge Expressway is very attractive to us for this project.  The Expressway is the beginning of your trip to almost everywhere.      

One of the primary considerations in developing a new community is what price range of home will work best within that community.  In this case it was a “no-brainer” to have Five Fountains be a “higher end” community.  The amenities and location made it a natural for such a neighborhood.   

We are often asked where do we come up with the names for new communities.  In this case, the name stemmed from a development in Orlando Florida called Four Fountains.  Also in planning, landscaping, and even decorating, using odd numbers is more widely accepted than evens.  You may also note that there are five cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood.  But “Five Cul-de-sacs” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
