Builders Contract
Now that you know how much you can afford and where you would like to build, it is time for the REALTOR® or builder to prepare a contract between you and your builder.  Typical builder contracts will include:
  1. Price and allowances
  2. Plans, specifications and cost-breakdowns
  3. Completion date
  4. Procedures for change orders
  5. Dispute resolution procedure
  6. Insurance requirements, including builder’s risk, worker’s compensation and liability
  7. Warranty and punchlist provisions
  8. Contingencies, such as financing
  9. Payment procedures and timing
