Design and Construction Builders Contract
Now that you know how much you
can afford and where you would like to build, it is time
for the REALTOR® or builder to prepare a contract
between you and your builder. Typical builder
contracts will include:
- Price and allowances
- Plans, specifications and cost-breakdowns
- Completion date
- Procedures for change orders
- Dispute resolution procedure
- Insurance requirements, including builder’s risk,
worker’s compensation and liability
- Warranty and punchlist provisions
- Contingencies, such as financing
- Payment procedures and
timing
